Margi Douglas
Owner and Certified Pilates/Alexander Instructor

Margi is certified by the Kane School in prenatal and postpartum Pilates, and is perinatal certified by Healthy Moms. She has been certified to teach Alexander under master ATI (Alexander Technique International) teacher Chloe Wing in New York City. Currently Margi studies with Lesley Powell at Movements Afoot and works with Master teachers throughout NYC to create continuing education for her instructors and clients. Workshops held at the Garage have included instructor's education on Osteoporosis, Understanding the Psoas and Anatomy Review. Continuing workshops for clients focus on Postpartum Pilates, Alexander and Pilates, and Margi's specialty Voice and Pilates.

Frances Darnell
Certified Pilates Instructor

Frances is a certified instructor from the Kane School of Core Integration in New York. She was first introduced to Pilates while studying dance and nutrition at Sarah Lawrence College where she received her Bachelors Degree. During college she took her love of movement to new heights, and became a certified hang gliding instructor, who has been featured on MTV. It was while coaching people to fly where she discovered her passion for teaching. Her Pilates practice gave her a stronger connection to her core and enhanced her performance as teacher and more articulate mover. She moved to New York in 2005 to perform as a dancer, and to combine her passion for teaching and wellness by teaching Pilates full time. Today Frances is inspired to impart the knowledge she has to motivate and teach her clients to live a healthy and balanced life. Her philosophy in teaching is to share the joy of moving. Her goals for her clients are to strengthen, mobilize, and increase flexibility. Frances teaches people of all ages and fitness levels, and is especially honored to work with women to stay fit and strong through pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. Her additional training includes studying anatomy and movement with Irene Dowd, certification in foot fitness by Yamuna Body Rolling, certification in pre-natal and post-natal exercise by Debbi Goodman, MSPT, and she is a qualified Tupler Technique Instructor. Fran is a keynote speaker at abdominal recovery workshops, and is inspired to help many new moms strengthen and regain their pre-pregnancy shape. Currently Frances lives in Queens, NY, where she continues to pursue her studies of health and wellness, and she enjoys cycling, yoga, surfing, running half-marathons, and salsa & swing dancing.

Dylan Goodrich
Studio Manager and Certified Pilates Instructor

Dylan Goodrich is a fully certified Pilates Instructor who studied at the Kane School of Core Integration. Dylan was introduced to Pilates through her doctor as a way to heal her back and neck pain. She was in a car that was rear- ended by five cars in the pile up accident! With Pilates she was able to rehabilitate her back and neck. Dylan feels this experience has made her sensitive to understanding clients working through limitations and pain. Dylan's teaching in Pilates has focused on osteoporosis, scoliosis and postpartum Pilates. Dylan is co-creator of a postpartum guide "Get in Shape after Having a Baby." She currently manages at the Pilates Garage and teaches at Bridge Pilates. Dylan is also a fully certified Holistic Health and Nutrition Practitioner (CNHP) and currently counsels clients on holistic health.

Mariel Auerbach
Certified Pilates Instructor

Mariel completed her comprehensive classical certification at Power Pilates in New York City, in mat and apparatus work. Mariel has been an athlete all her life. When she was younger she was a competitive horse back rider as well as a gymnast. After working in an office for a few years and suffering from scoliosis she realized something had to change. She decided to leave the corporate world and become a pilates teacher. She was introduced to pilates by taking mat classes at a local studio in Brooklyn, and fell in love with the many positive changes it made to her body. From there, she continued on to apparatus work. Mariel is certified through Julie Tupler's diastatis rehab, this allows her to work with prenatal and postnatal clients. Mariel continues to study pilates with Blossom Leilani Crawford, and remains dedicated to furthering her knowledge of Pilates through workshops and daily practice.

Jessica Ree
Certified Pilates Instructor

Jessica Ree started taking Pilates at 14 after a dance-related back injury left her looking for more strength for her over-flexible body. She started in California with Rael Isacowitz. After years of taking Pilates, she decided to combine her love of Pilates with her love of teaching. She became certified through Body Tonic Pilates Gymnasium in Brooklyn, NY. Jessica has also taken courses on exercise during pregnancy. She enjoys introducing Pilates to new students.

Tarquin Gill-Kehoe
Certified Pilates Instructor

Tarquin Gill-Kehoe received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from SUNY Purchase College, her Pilates certification through the Kane School of Core Integration, and she is currently studying to become a nurse practitioner from Columbia University's graduate program. Tarquin has also continued her movement education to integrate rehabilitation techniques, prenatal and postpartum exercise, as well as traditional exercise theories. While Tarquin focuses on a holistic approach to health and exercise, she will train you to move more efficiently and to realize your physical potential. Your session will include constant assessment, total body strengthening, postural correction, and a challenging, invigorating Pilates-based workout!

Jesske Hume
Certified Pilates Instructor

Jesske is a musician, dancer and Pilates instructor living in Brooklyn, NY. As a certified Pilates Instructor, she emphasizes the importance of mind-body awareness and conscious movement. Her classes are anatomically informed and very specific, detailed, and challenging. She received her Pilates certification through Marie-Jose Blom at Long Beach Dance Conditioning in Long Beach, CA, and holds a BA in music and dance performance from Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. In addition to her certification, her teaching is informed by her lifelong exploration of dance and movement. With over 7 years of teaching experience, Jesske has helped to rehabilitate a variety of injuries, and she has worked with clients with joint injuries, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, and pre- and post-partum clients. She has conditioned professional athletes and dancers, and has a strong background in rehabilitation and injury prevention. As a teacher, Jesske strives to bring clients closer to their personal goals, helping them to become more aware of their bodies, relieve pain, and reach higher levels of athleticism and artistry.
